Lactation Consultant Cheshire & Manchester
I’m an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Doula. I provide counselling, family coaching, support and solutions to infant feeding challenges – from pregnancy, baby’s first year, and beyond. I’m recognised by Doula UK and I also support new doulas as a Doula UK Mentor.
Are you searching for breastfeeding support? Perhaps you’re looking for solutions to sleep or feeding issues, or you need antenatal education sessions or postnatal support for your family? Rest assured I can help!
You see, I have over 16 years’ experience supporting families with all types of infant feeding and doula support during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. I’m based in Alderley Edge and work with families all over Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Liverpool and further afield in the Northwest. I also offer my services online and remotely so no-one has to miss out.
I run The Baby Element at Wilmslow Baby Clinic, where you can find face-to-face support for the challenges you and your baby are experiencing. For more complex issues I can refer to the appropriate healthcare professionals across the Northwest. I have experience providing postnatal support to families, including singletons and multiples, older siblings, teenage families, intersectional couples, and families with complex needs.
Being a mum of three older children, I understand the need for good support networks. During the pregnancies and early months of my own children, I started researching exactly what pregnancy means to me and the physiology of birth – and that knowledge has been a super tool needed in any family’s parenting kit. I was eager to learn more about what exactly it was that made our bodies so amazing and felt called to become a doula so I could support new families on their journey.
I believe families should have access to that one-to-one support, whether that is a family member, a friend, or a professional doula. And I would like all families to have the support, time, and encouragement to choose the right birth for them and make informed choices in the early weeks and months of parenthood.
Pregnancy and birth support – Pregnancy and birth can be an amazing and transitional experience and I’m here to listen and support you on your journey offering tailored support to your personal situation. This includes planning for birth, preparing your body for birth, parenting coaching, and antenatal feeding workshops. Whether you’re using hypnobirthing or mindfulness, you’re opting for medical pain relief, induction, or caesarean – I can help you feel empowered to birth freely in your own time in the place you feel most comfortable.
Infant feeding – I have nearly two decades of experience supporting families with infant feeding including breastfeeding issues and bottle feeding – and have supported over 1,000 women on a one-to-one basis. Over the years, I have also supported the work of La Leche GB and Association of Breastfeeding Mothers as a volunteer, and have worked privately with IBCLC’s and Specialist Midwives, who are leading experts in infant feeding. My expertise extends across antenatal workshops, postnatal consultations, feeding plans, solid introduction, weaning, and eating for older children.
Postnatal doula support – What suits one family may not be to the needs of another which is why I tailor my services to meet you individually. Whether you need an extra pair of hands when it comes to baby care, running your house or meal preparation, my postnatal family support is flexible and can be arranged around your needs. This includes overnight support, emotional support, previous birth debriefing, feeding support, cooking and household support. Even better, I can often come out within a couple of hours.
